Johanna Lindh

Born 1972 in Stockholm, Johanna trained at the Swedish Royal Ballet School, the National Ballet School of Hungary and the Moscow Ballet Academy. She then worked as a dancer on a freelance basis in USA and Europe. In 1993 Johanna was invited by the Rumanian National Opera to dance the role of Katarina in The Taming of the Shrew by Ion Tugearo and thereafter remained in the company. In 1995 she danced the main role in Birgit Cullberg’s Mamma Maria and she joined Cullberg Ballet in 1997. Roles include Juliet in Romeo and Juliet by Birgit Cullberg, the Emerald Fairy in Sleeping Beauty by Mats Ek and the Birthday Present and Jerster in Mats Ek’s Swan Lake. She has also danced leading roles in Mats Ek’s Giselle, She was Black, A Sort of and FLUKE and in works by Johan Inger, Ohad Naharin, Jirí KyliánJens Östberg and Alexander Ekman. Johanna was on a leave of absence from spring 2010 and is back in the company from autumn 2011.
